Torrington Rotary Club
Interact
Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people ages 14-18. The program gives young people an opportunity to participate in fun, meaningful service projects while developing leadership skills and meeting new friends.
The Interact Club of Torrington High School is independent, but is supported by a faculty advisor and a liaison from the Torrington Rotary Club.
Through service activities, Interactors learn the importance of:
...Developing leadership skills and personal integrity;
...Demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others; and
...Advancing international understanding and goodwill
The Officers for the 2008-2009 year are:
Colleen Behuniak, President
Anna Driscoll, Vice-President
Dave Pashley, Treasurer
Maura Magistrali, Secretary
Robin Magistrali, Robert Maggi , Faculty Advisors
During the 2007-2008 school year the Interact club raised money to support The Orphans of Rwanda and Save the Children. The Interact Club participated in the Penguin Plunge at Highland Lake and sponsored their second dodge ball tournament at the high school. One Interact member, Maura Magistrali, attended the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards program in Massachusetts in June.
