About the Torrington Rotary Club
The Torrington Rotary Club was chartered on April 1, 1920. The Club has only held meetings in two places in the past 87 years, The Yankee Pedlar Inn and now, the Torrington Elks Club. This stability and commitment is one of the hallmarks of Torrington Rotary. We are here to help!
The Clubs roster regularly numbers 80 individuals all having strong community ties.
The Torrington Club fully embraces the Four Avenues of Service:
- Club Service focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the effective functioning of the club.
- Vocational Service encourages Rotarians to serve others through their vocations and to practice high ethical standards. Please refer to our Scholarship information and Group Study Exchange page.
- Community Service covers the projects and activities the club undertakes to improve life in its community. Please refer to our Community Service page and Golf Page.
- International Service encompasses actions taken to expand Rotary's humanitarian reach around the globe and to promote world understanding and peace. Please refer to our International Service Page.
The Torrington Rotary Club is very active in all “Avenues of Service”. Rotary generosity and commitment has touched every non-profit agency in Torrington and nearby communities in some way. We have been active in poverty, health, women’s and educational issues from the very beginning of the club and our resolve to continue working on these issues will never waiver.
To be a Torrington Rotarian, you must be ready with your talent, time and treasure to make life a little better for others.
